Interrogative pronouns
We use interrogative pronouns to ask questions. The interrogative pronouns are: who, whom, whose, what and which.
Examples:
• Who is coming to visit us?
• To whom were you talking?
• Whose is that car in the garage?
• What were you wearing?
• Which will you read first?
Note: ‘what’ and ‘which’ can also be interrogative adjectives. This is when they are used to modify a noun.
Examples:
• What subjects will you be studying?
• Which hat did you choose?
