Verb tenses
A verb’s tense tells us the time of the action or the state of being.
The main tenses are present, past and future.
These are divided into simple (or imperfect, or indefinite), continuous, perfect and perfect continuous, making 12 tenses in total.
Examples:

Simple | I listened | I listen | I will listen |
Continuous | I was listening | I am listening | I will be listening |
Perfect | I had listened | I have listened | I will have listened |
Perfect Continuous | I had been listening | I have been listening | I will have been listening |
